Casa da Tita - Nave do Barão, Lda

Bilateral Meetings

  • Saturday 14 May 2016 (11:15 am - 12:30 pm)
DescriptionCasa da Tita is a small and cozy rural tourism establishment located in the village of Nave do Barão, Loulé. It is composed of a set of buildings, which were restored according to their original outline and constructed with traditional techniques using stone and clay from the region. The late structural interventions on the main residential building, built in 1952, brought about comfortable bedrooms with a private bathroom and kept the original polychromy and aesthetics (the green and pink bedrooms). The wide cistern was also transformed into a bedroom whereas the traditional kitchen was endowed with functional, guest-friendly equipment. The old granary was replaced with an apartment prepared for accessible tourism. The old kitchen was restored, while the cereal warehouse was turned into a bedroom and the original bathroom adapted for people with physical limitations or a mobility related disability. The donkey shed and hayloft gave way to an apartment inspired by the culture and traditions from the rural lifestyle. The warehouse, which once stored agricultural products and implements, was transformed into a front desk and a multipurpose room for breakfast, leisure, conviviality and reading. The overflowing pool, solariums and surrounding areas, in which carob and almond trees are the dominant flora, complement the enriching, peaceful, rewarding and nature-related stay. Cycling, guided walking tours, organic farming, wine tasting and bird ringing are just some of the many activities offered at Casa da Tita.

Areas of Activities

Country house in the mountain is looking for European tour operators

Casa da Tita is located in Serra do Caldeirão, about 10 km from the town of Loulé and 25 km from the south coast. The Protected Landscapes of the Rocha da Pena and the Fonte Benémola are the main natural attractions in the surrounding area. The village lies in a valley surrrounded by hills and it takes advantage from the Algarve’s pleasant and sunny weather.

This heritage, which once belonged to the aunt Tita, comprises 2 apartments, 2 double rooms and 1 junior suite, with a maximum capacity for 16 guests. Casa da Tita organizes traditional farming activities, culinary workshops with typical regional products (carob, fig, almond), wine tasting, pre-arranged guided walking tours and safaris in the region, among other activities.

Marketing is not our strong suit, that is why we are seeking tour operators to agree on a comercial deal with us that would envolve guest arrivals in exchange for a commission (preferably not over 15-20%).

The UK and the Nordic countries are the market segments we would like to reach, given that it is still struggling to attract British customers, whilst the latter usually travel to Portugal during the low season, when there are very few guest arrivals.

We look forward to our meeting on the 14th May.
